Nadeen Fankhauser is a clarinetist based in San Francisco where she maintains an active performing and teaching career. For the last several years she has held playing positions in the Orchestra Iowa and the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra in Indiana. She has performed with many other outstanding ensembles such as the New World Symphony, the West Shore Symphony, and the Bard Conductor's Institute Orchestra. She grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she began studying the clarinet at the age of 10. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree from Oberlin Conservatory with a Dean's Talent Award. She earned her Master of Music from Florida State University where she was appointed to a teaching assistantship. In 2006 she graduated from Northwestern University with a Performance Certificate. Her primary teachers have included Lawrie Bloom, Frank Kowalsky, and Lawrence McDonald. |
